Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMRs) and other medical software.

Education & Qualifications: 
  • MBBS/Bachelor in Medicine
  • DOH eligibility/license 
  • 2-3 years of work experience as a General Practitioner, with significant experience in diagnosing and managing both pediatric and adult patients.
  • Expertise in basic and advanced airway management.

Description
In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating newly referred patients, conducting ward rounds, diagnosing medical conditions, and discussing treatment plans with both the internal healthcare team and the patients' families.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate newly referred patients by taking comprehensive medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Analyze patient data to arrive at an accurate diagnosis and determine appropriate treatment options.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of both pediatric and adult patients, understanding the unique needs of each group and adjusting treatment accordingly.
  • Conduct regular ward rounds, assessing the progress of hospitalized patients, and reviewing their treatment plans and progress with the internal healthcare team.
  • Ensure that patient care plans are adjusted as needed based on patient progress and changes in clinical condition.
  • Provide clear and concise reports on the patients’ conditions during ward rounds to the medical team and support staff.
  • Discuss treatment options with the internal medical team, providing recommendations for care, medications, and potential interventions.
  • Communicate with patients and their families regarding the diagnosis, treatment plans, and any necessary lifestyle modifications, ensuring that they are well-informed and involved in the decision-making process.
  • Coordinate with specialists, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both basic and advanced airway management, including the ability to perform life-saving procedures when necessary.
  • Provide emergency medical care for patients experiencing respiratory distress, ensuring the proper stabilization and transfer to higher levels of care when required.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on airway management techniques, ensuring that all team members are well-equipped to handle critical situations.
  • Oversee the continuity of care for patients after discharge by providing follow-up recommendations, coordinating outpatient appointments, and ensuring proper medication management.
  • Review and update patient treatment plans during follow-up visits to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of care and address any concerns or complications that may arise.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, collaborating with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and clinical support to junior medical staff, guiding them in patient care decisions and clinical procedures.
  • Ensure effective communication between different departments to facilitate smooth transitions of care for patients.
  • Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures, ensuring they are empowered to make informed decisions.
  • Address any concerns or questions from patients or families regarding the patient’s health, diagnosis, or prognosis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, ensuring that all treatments, prescriptions, assessments, and communications are documented in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory guidelines, and Department of Health (DoH) standards in the documentation and management of patient care.
  • Stay current with medical advancements, treatments, and guidelines, attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities and maintain the necessary certifications and licensure
