Skills & Competencies:
Strong vessel operations and coordination expertise, knowledge of international maritime regulations
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Advanced organizational, time management, and workflow leadership abilities
Manage crew logistics and respond to emergencies efficiently
Proactive, adaptable, solutions-focused mindset
8+ years’ experience, including 5 in the UAE in a similar role
Holds Chief Officer or Master Mariner Certificate
Fluent in Arabic and English; willing to travel occasionally
Education & Qualifications:
Degree qualification in Maritime Operations, Marine Engineering, or related field
Practical marine operations experience in tanker operations, including chemical tankers
Office-based operations experience coordinating across vessels and departments
Description
This is the central operational link between vessels, crew, and shore-based departments. This role is fully focused on marine operations and requires hands-on coordination of vessel matters, crew logistics, safety, compliance follow-up, and cross-functional communication to ensure uninterrupted fleet performance. This is a high-responsibility role requiring maturity, urgency, and strong decision-making in a fast-paced maritime environment.
Role & Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all operational vessel matters
Coordinate communication between vessels, crew, and internal departments
Oversee full crew logistics including travel arrangements, transfers, medical appointments, and essential provisions
Respond promptly to crew-related emergencies
Monitor compliance with international and local maritime regulations
Track and ensure timely renewal of crew certifications, vessel documentation, and insurance policies
Follow up on annual dry dock schedules and required inspections
Act as a central liaison between accounts, technical, purchasing, and operations teams
Adapt communication style to effectively engage with stakeholders across different regions, including West Africa and Europe
Anticipate operational risks and implement proactive solutions to maintain uninterrupted vessel performance
